John C. Burton in the News
The Legends Award
John C. Burton was honored with the Mentor Award, part of the Legends Awards celebration of the Fifth Annual San Francisco Cocktail Week in 2011. Cocktail Week offers an incredible array of cocktail parties, one-of-a-kind spirit, bar and cocktail classes, neighborhood cocktail crawls, culinary events, festive galas and more. San Francisco Cocktail Week is presented by the Barbary Coast Conservancy of the American Cocktail (BCCAC), a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of saloons and their cocktails in San Francisco.
It was a decadent evening of delicious cuisine, hand-designed cocktails and homage paid to those who have made their mark in the bartending trade, including the living legend, John C. Burton, who has truly “raised the bar” in the industry.

Burton Selected for Distiller's Apprentice Commercial
Encanto Pisco invited Bartenders to broadcast via YouTube how they make their favorite Encanto drink, to tell their story, and to wholeheartedly ask and answer the question What's Your Legacy? to vie for an opportunity to join Encanto as a Distiller's Apprentice in Pisco, Peru.
Although the video is no longer available, we are proud that John C. Burton was bestowed this honor. It should be noted that John's portion of the Encanto Pisco promo was filmed in Burton's home with all of the breweriana that are part of his extensive antique collection.
